GEORGENA HARRINGTON

Executive Trustee/Co-Founder

Georgena Harrington is the Executive Trustree of the Robert A. Leonard Jr. Charitable Trust.  She was born in Lincoln Park, Michigan and raised in River Rouge where she attended River Rouge Public Schools and graduated from River Rouge High School.  She graduated from Wayne State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Journalism.  Georgena also has a background in television production and is a graduate of Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts (now Specs Howard School of Media Arts).  She currently works in the Human Services field and is the owner of Events Management, LLC with over 10 years in event planning as a certified event planner.  She enjoys travel and spending time with family and friends.  Georgena is a passionate philanthropist and very excited about her charitable work.  She serves as the Board Co-Chair for Family Assistance for Renaissance Men (F.A.R.M. - www.farm-mi.org), a nonprofit dedicated to helping fathers and their families. Georgena’s desire is to ensure that the Robert A. Leonard Jr. Charitable Trust fulfills its purpose in the community.  In establishing the trust, her vision includes empowering youth in their educational endeavors and support to nonprofit agencies doing good work in their communities. Georgena currently resides in the metro Detroit area.

KAYLEN BROOKS

Trustee

Kaylen is a graduate of Michigan State University.  She Holds a BA in Interdisciplinary Studies in Social Science, Health with a cognate in Psychology. She met her husband LeKeith Brooks at MSU and they married her senior year.  Kaylen's academic challenges helped her gain an appreciation for education and created a passion to motivate youth to avoid the hard lessons she learned.  This passion nurtured opportunities for her to mentor her nieces, nephews and friends, encouraging them to persevere and complete their college educations. Kaylen was employed by the State of Michigan until 2017. Kaylen returned to school to pursue her medical studies and is now working as a Registered Nurse.  Kaylen spends her free time with her husband and twins, Lisa and Legend.

ANTHONY LUCKETT

Trustee

Anthony is the Internship Director in Humanities/History and Lecturer IV in Journalism and Screen Studies at the University of Michigan-Dearborn, his Alma Mater. He received the distinguished Alumnus of the year award in 2007 and Lecturer of the Year in 2016. Anthony also holds a Master’s Degree in Film Studies from Wayne State University. He was featured in the 11th annual Pan-African Film Festival for his film, Beautiful, in 2002 and has written a number of screenplays and has directed some short films. One of his screenplays finished in the Top 30 in the 2nd Annual American Gem Short Script Writing Contest. Anthony is the CEO of Tony Luckett Films and Associate Producer in the television ministry of Word of Faith International Christian Center. His core values center around his faith and dedication to his family. Anthony spends most of his free time with his wife, Shauna.
