giving timelines
Grant applications are made available November 1 of each year. Applications must be postmarked and received by March 1, 2021 for consideration. Applicant finalists must be prepared to interview for the grant on April 24, 2021.* Recipients of the 2021 award will be notified in July of their application status.

Upon receipt and evaluation of all applications, the Board of Trustees will inform receipients of their decision via US mail.
All applications will be evaluated on merit and completion of the application along with supporting documents. The Robert A. Leonard Jr. Charitable Trust does not descriminate based on race, ethnicity, age, gender or sexual orientation.
future consideration
Applications received after the March 1, 2021 deadline will not be considered. Late applications may be considered for funding in future award cycles.

In support of people and communities, the Robert A. Leonard Jr. Charitable Trust supports 501(c)(3) organizations that align with our core areas of giving focus. The Board of Trustees approves all requests based on organization need and evaluation.

Criteria
Letter of Intent Instructions
For 501(c)(3) Organizations:

Submit a LOI to the Board of Trustees. The letter should include the purpose of your organization, mission and documented history of at least two years of service.

Enclose a list of your board of directors and their contributions to the organization.

Submit a budget for your program, copy of your tax exempt letter and most recent 990 tax return.

The Board of Trustees will notify organizations if their proposal has been granted.
